Marketing and defining a product with a fresh approach from its competitors may often be achieved by considering the user’s application and handling of it.  In some cases, attention to this area can enhance the registration submission, a successful product launch or a product defence strategy.  Sometimes this angle is considered too late in the marketing or not in a sufficiently innovative way to achieve the product’s full potential.

The approach of TH Projects is to identify what is actually needed by the user to obtain the desired result and provide that, often in practical and innovative ways.

In addition to specific product support, TH Projects also runs an annual training course in conjunction with one of the leading UK agricultural colleges.  This is a 5-day residential course ‘Crop Protection in Practice’, which takes place at the end of June each year.  Using entirely practical activities, it provides a wide understanding of agriculture, crop protection and associated issues.  It is intended for people who would like to know more about these subjects, but would have little opportunity of doing so in their work and life.  Delegates frequently attend from the crop protection industry, but it is open to anyone interested in this subject.  The course is limited to 12 attendees and details are available from TH Projects.

TH Projects was established by Tony Hodgekiss in 2004, following over 30 years employment by ICI/Zeneca/Syngenta as a pesticide application specialist, supporting the company’s products worldwide.  This offered him the opportunity to gain an extremely broad level of expertise of the agriculture, crop protection and practical techniques found in many parts of the world.

Tony has a very ‘hands-on’ approach to working with the customer, spray operator or agronomist and can undertake practical field or equipment activities with confidence.   To support this, Tony has current UK certificates for hand and tractor spray application and is a member of the UK National Register of Spray Operators.   He has a good understanding of field operations and a wide network of contacts within the crop protection and agricultural equipment industry.  He is a member of the Institute of Agricultural Engineers.
